Huntsville, AL just took top honor with an average fare of $471. Seems recent fare cuts from Delta helped lower the ranking for Cincinnati (Marc2's favorite airport) that had been the most/second-most expensive for years.

Huntsville was followed by Grand Rapids, MI ($403); Savannah, GAa. ($402); Washington Dulles ($383); and Houston Bush ($379).

Lowest fares were at Atlantic City, NJ ($185), followed by Long Beach, CA ($216); Dallas Love, TX ($223); Orlando, FL ($228); and FLL ($229).

I can get a much better fare by driving to Lexington or Louisville but then wind up back at CVG boarding the flight with the much higher fare...

The downside of cheaper fares at CVG is that DL has also cut service. For example we used to have non-stops to London, Paris, Zurich, Rome, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Now only Paris is left.

from the Enquirer:

New numbers out Wednesday show that CVG fares are 12th highest among the 100 largest U.S. airports. The average local fare was nearly $370 per domestic round trip in the second quarter of this year � 38.7 percent lower than fares during same three months last year.
