Reporting our experience from a dive today (last of the trip) and to get it in the archives for any possible searches... We were towards the end of our dive on Delilah, and I looked over between the hills and mountains of Delilah and see two divers (a couple). They were upright and cruising right in the middle of the water column. Hanging onto each other. Frequently flashing the OK sign between themselves. Both sporting snorkels and no wet suits. Continuous stream of bubbles being released between the two of them. No one else around but me, Marcie and Ramon. They were very happy to see us and we helped them get calmed down and through a safety stop. They both had plenty of air when we found them, but he blew through 1200 psi in less than ten minutes. When we surfaced we found the Aqua World boat collecting groups of divers from an area about the size of a football field. They needed a seine. We sent them off to their boat and went about our business. Later, from El Cantil, I saw the AW boat pull up at Cozumel Palace and walked out to see if they got off the boat. They had and were quite surprised when I called to them by name. Seems they signaled to their dm the husband was having ear issues on the descent and he was under weighted. That was the last they saw of their group (currents were moderate, no excuse there), and they thought we were part of their group. I am unsure how well they would have handled the situation on their own. I suggested they use a smaller op for better service and some skill improvement. I hope they listened. Other than that, a fairly uneventful day ;-)

Obviously this behavior goes way back. From the Mar '01 issue: "Having a Bad Day, Aquaworld? On the morning of January 27, an Aquaworld boat in Cozumel dropped off a group of cruise ship divers to explore the sunken plane in front of the Le Ceiba Hotel, and then returned to their dock about 200 yards away. The dive group surfaced to find the current moving them toward the cruise ship pier, and no boat in sight. They were pulled into the La Ceiba pier by a pair of nearby DMs, who called AquaWorld to inform them. That same afternoon, a dive boat from another shop heading to the Palancar area came across two divers floating on the surface, at least a quarter of a mile from the next nearest craft. These AquaWorld customers were picked up and returned to their boat, which apparently had been searching for them some distance away. --DocVikingo"

Cozumel Palace, they will, unfortunately, be given more opportunities to justify their nickname - "Caca World".
